Julie T. Chapman & Amanda Markel: Fractured
July 6 @ 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM

This July we are hosting painter Julie T. Chapman and sculptor Amanda Markel for a show titled “Fractured” featuring their contemporary wildlife art. Their artistic pursuits in the wildlife genre are unique and compelling! Join us for an opening reception on Thursday, July 6th from 6-9pm — the same evening as the July Whitefish Gallery Night! More details to come.
Amanda Markel specializes in modern equine and wildlife art with expressive personality and pizzazz. Her innovative works in bronze focus on design and the use of attractive lines to play with negative space and incorporate architectural elements or geometric forms.
Julie T. Chapman’s painting process has evolved into what she calls disrupted realism: where subjects are fragmented and the final outcome of each piece is unknown at the start. The journey involves abstraction, drawing, scraping, and re-working — all in a search for the right amount of not enough.
