James Corwin is a widely collected wildlife artist who paints with a distinct blend of gestural technique and precise detail. His aim as an artist is to elicit emotion from the viewer; to draw them into an intimate moment of a story unfolding. Avoiding static portraiture, Corwin gathers his inspiration and references from frequent travels around the world. His dynamic compositions are widely collected and he works with conservation efforts that focus on the wildlife he paints. Corwin attended Marietta college and Montana State University for Studio Art and Art Education. He has studios in Long Island, NY and Lakeside, MT.
