KENNEWICK, WA
Jeremy has been fascinated with wildlife and animals since childhood. Growing up in rural California, much of his childhood was spent chasing frogs, snakes, and any critters he could get close to and helping to tend chickens, rabbits and cows at his grandparents’ farm. These early experiences led Jeremy to work, explore, backpack, and fly-fish in the Sierra Nevada mountains as a young adult and fueled his natural curiosity and interest in animals and wildlife.
His drive to be engaged with wild animals led him to pursue the art of falconry. During nearly thirty years of honing his craft and skills as a falconer he lived in many parts of the Western United States from the Oklahoma panhandle to the state of Washington, where Jeremy now resides. Over those decades of observation, research, and practice he became widely recognized for his specialized expertise in falconry. Jeremy’s passion for hunting and working with trained hawks and falcons continues to drive his discerning curiosity and acute observation skills used to inform his sculpting. His desire to be close to wilderness and wildlife has brought much happiness, and that is what he wants to share most in his artwork. He strives to accurately represent his animal subjects while still providing a slight joyful lift through their expressions and poses. He aspires to bring his sculptures to life so they reflect an artist’s life authentically committed to the natural world.
