Hanging artwork should be a creative, stress-free experience! Follow these simple guidelines when hanging artwork to ease your anxiety. If you make a mistake, don't worry—it's easy to make changes without much damage!
Hang with the center of the artwork 60" from the ground. Hang lower than 60” in a room where you are typically seated (like a dining room or office), and hang higher than 60” in rooms with high ceilings (9 ft. or taller).
Use two hangers for long, horizontal pieces. This keeps your piece level and secure, especially when dusting.
Proper picture hangers don’t typically require a stud. The weight limit is marked on the hook, so always check before hanging! The standard limit is 25lbs. When hanging heavier items, secure to a stud or consult a professional.
Use clear silicone bumpers. Putting these on the bottom corners of your frame will help keep the picture level. Felt ones don’t do much good and can stain your wall in warmer temperatures!
