JC Spock
COLORADO SPRINGS, CO
JC Spock creates striking mixed media pieces that speak to bygone eras. Her photography is the anchor for each composition, which is then layered with many different mediums – acrylic paints, inks, pencils, pastels, and vintage ephemera.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
JC’s layered approach produces a contemporary piece of art with a distinct vintage aesthetic. A self-described old soul, JC is drawn to old buildings, documents, and history. Of her work, she says, “I love to photograph the West as I see it and interpret the story through the paint, paper and photography incorporated in each piece.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“I’m perfectly situated between the mountains and prairies of Colorado and love to explore the areas around me that speak to the bygone era I long to revisit.”
