Lee Proctor experienced a moment of insight on a blue fall day in Bozeman Montana when he witnessed hot iron glowing like the sun, coming out of the fireā¦ the black coal fire. Looking back now he realizes that he had found his calling, his path. He has always worked with fire, first in metals and now with hot glass. Working closely with his assistants, they create both architectural and sculptural works, including many commissions. Collaboration has become a way of life, a process that Lee has truly come to enjoy.
For him, the creative process is a magical experience full of mystery and challenge. He is learning to trust his creative instincts and trying to let intuition, rather than intellect, be the guide.
