WHITEFISH, MT
Kristen was born in Kansas then migrated west as a teen with her family. She studied art at Northern Arizona University and after a career of raising a family and various aspects of commercial art, focused on the challenge of learning to paint. Vermeer, Sorolla, and Sargent have been early and profound influences.
“My college experience was a basic foundation in design principles, but exposure to professional instruction with various painters and at Scottsdale Artist’s School has given me tools to transfer inspiration to canvas. I am caught up in a never-ending process of learning. I love working toward a goal to capture light and atmosphere with paint, communicating them to the viewers of my paintings.”
Kristen and her husband are the parents of three and grandparents of seven. She now divides her time between Arizona and Montana, enjoying the benefits of life in such beautiful and inspiring locations.
