Jeff grew up with a love for fishing, the outdoors and art.

He attended Howell Cheney Technical School in Manchester CT where he started his training as a machinist and toolmaker. Jeff pursued painting whenever he could, taking painting classes from artists Beth Ellis, Jim Wilcox, Luke Frazier and Dave Wade, along with studying many art books and painting on location.

In 2005, Jeff moved to the Flathead Valley in Montana to be closer to the wildlife, mountains and the western art world.

Jeff has participated in the 2003 “Top 200” National Arts For The Parks Contest, the 2007, 2009, 2012, 2014 and 2016 Charlie Russell Auctions, the 2007 Bozeman Western Art Auction, the Hockaday Museum Annual Miniature Auction and Annual Plein Air Paintout, the Bigfork Museum of Art Saddle Up Paint Event, the Annual A.L.E.R.T. Auction, and the 2010/2011 Montana Land Reliance Art Auction.
